Trilingual glossary

Each profile is named differently in each educational framework. This is not a literal translation: it is the official term each system uses, verified against official sources.

The three reference frameworks

Español — LOMLOE (Organic Law 3/2020): the NEAE umbrella term (Specific Educational Support Needs); within it, NEE for disability or serious disorders.

English — SEND Code of Practice (England): four areas — communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social/emotional/mental health, and sensory/physical needs.

Euskara — Heziberri (Basque Government): its own terminology; official context “-desgaitasuna”, educational context “urriko/urritasuna”.
