Evidence: The Flesch readability formula (1948) was adapted for Spanish by Fernández Huerta (1959). Barrio-Cantalejo et al. (2007) validated its use for health education materials. UNE 153101 (Easy Reading) recommends sentences under 20 words and avoiding words with more than 3 syllables for accessible texts.
